Keeping busy wrapping up a few things before we hit the road in the morning.

Where are we today ?

Just more great weather here another reason why we love hanging out in the area. After my coffees, computing and stuff headed for a walkabout at 7:30 this morning now all the blood flowing and enjoying the nice quiet scenery. I had a craving for a soft boiled egg. It's been a long time, when was the last time you ever had one? Fingers  of toast to dip in the soft yoke, brings back childhood memories.
Oh yeah just like I remembered  was too good
We have plans to get some stuff done today. So at 8:20 this morning we headed into Strathroy  to pick up a few groceries and a couple of chickens on sale,(last day for the sale). And Suzie even came along. only because she wanted to get her hair trimmed. The First choice does not open until 9 am so got the groceries out of the way and her hair was nicely trimmed and we outta there by 9:20. She is looking good as always and a happy lady now. We stopped by the Goodwill store for her to take a peak and that is all it takes, noting caught her eye and out of there lickety split. Back to Rock Glen and home by 9:45 sorted the laundry and I headed into the laundry mat to get it all done.
Home just afternoon helped her make the bed, whipped up a light lunch and she put the folded clothes away.
While she did this I got to work to finish the polishing and waxing the upper right side of our coach using Walt's 7 foot ladder. Finally got this done by 3:30 . Clean up my stuff and returned Walt's ladder then enjoyed a Happy hour with Gerry, Tucker and Suzie. Still need to the lower right side, but that will happen another day. The ladder work is the hardest.
Tucker's chair broke so he has to sit on the ground
Then soon time to fire up our Weber Q . Grill a couple of bone in pork chops , to add to our green salad
used the grill mat to keep the grill clean and keep them moist,
does a great job
yummy?yes it was
Now supper done, cleaned up and head down for darts for 6:45. to have some fun times like we usually do. Only 15 here tonight so had 2 boards going. Suzie and I were on different teams tonight and we had to play against each other. Darts for us non pros is always a challenge and fun. Lotsa laughs. I had a high score tonight 118 with 3 darts, got lucky.
Suzie thinking about getting ready
she is just getting ready to throw
The night was fun as always and we had playoffs, our team came in 1st place so I walked out with 3 bucks not bad for an evening of fun . Paid 6 and came home with 3.
Now home, time to kick back for a bit , finish this posting and soon call it a night, Zoo is on at 10 pm will see if I can stay awake for the whole show, doubt it.
We on the road in the morning heading to the Durham Ontario area to hang out with some good friends there for a while, enjoy the area and their company.
Glad that y'all dropped by again.

Bunny fix, doggie fix, enjoying this weather and more polishing our coach.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it.
Just another great summer day perfect for doing some more polishing on our coach. But first things first, Some computing a pot of coffee and a walkabout the campground. As soon as I stepped outside this morning at 7 am this bunny was right there, just munching away on our lawn.
bunny sat there for a while
Nice to be able to wear a t shirt and shorts and get to work polishing our coach some more, bright an early. The driver's side and back of the coach was done shortly after  by 10:00 am, so we had an early lunch and I whipped into Forest for a few supplies etc.
soon will be mostly done, I like to pace myself, taking care of my bad back
After Lunch Maya stopped in for a Suzie fix then carried on her walk with Walt.
I had a bit more energy this afternoon and wanted to start polishing the passenger side of our coach, but because off the slope on this site my 5 ft ladder was a bit short. Well heck Walt was  here and offered my his 7 ft ladder. Bonus, just what I needed. So I picked it up and set to work for another hour or so until my energy decided it was time to quite for the day, give my back a rest.
Still a wonderful afternoon only 80f so grabbed my e-reader and joined Suzie under our awning for a while. Then time to fire up our Weber Q to grill a nice Turkey breast I picked u today on sale. After getting it all prepped and spiced I set it on our a small foil covered trivet to roast about 45 minutes and was done to perfection.
so moist and tender
added to our salad sure hit the spot
Of course we will have leftovers for lunches,(don't do much processed meats so this works great for us) plus some more bones in the freezer for some soup in the near future.
After supper outside to enjoy some more fresh air and Maya dragged Walt by again for another Suzie fix, and of course she does get a few small treats as well.
Well trained she is, listens to her
oh yeah rub some more, mama Suzie.
think she is a bit spoiled ?
They headed on out and Suzie finished the dishes, then just some more great outside reading.
Gotta love these wonderful summer days, maybe rain tonight around 9 pm, but that is just fine with us.
Thank y'all for taking the time to stop by and as usual hope you had a great day as well.

Much warmer today, got some things done and enjoyed this great weather

Much nicer weather than yesterday really gotta love it. Now this is much better temperatures. The windows open last night and this morning at 5 am a cool 56 f (13c) but did not take long to warm up. Buy 7.30 I had stuff already to start polishing our coach. Some of the areas are oxidized again Got my orbital buffer out and set to work compounding the areas that need it.  End result looks amazing once again.
looks better now,
not bad for 18 years old I think
pretty dull and stains before I started
yup looks better, but you can hardly tell from the pics
did get the shine back again
Use this buffer and the this compound,
best I have ever used.
Then applied the Megriur's Ultimate Liquid wax. does and amazing job, wipe on and wipe off. gotta love it.
love these products, they are not cheap but they work!
After lunch Walt came over with Maya. he is doing a few adjustments to our new floor, Not a big deal but he said he could stop by and do that for us.
While here Maya made herself at home on our couch
she thinks this is her second home
Walt got that taken care of in no time and headed off to another job.  Suzie helped Gerry with a computer program that we use while I prepped our pork ribs with sauerkraut to go in the Weber Q. For that recipe you can click here or my recipe blog top right side bar.
Shorly after that Suzie came back and Tucker followed her bringing along Gerry. After all was time for Happy Hour.
Tucker did his Hi 5 and got his treats too.
Melinda stopped by to say Hi on her way back to work
With the ribs on the Q  for a couple of hours was time to take then and set on the grill mat, slathered with sticky BBQ sauce to to glaze,
also did a cob of corn to share with Suzie,
soaked in water for an hour or so
added to our salad was excellent
Supper done and back outside to enjoy another very warm sunny evening, just because we could.
Just playing with my blog posting and Maya dragged Walt back here for a Suzie fix, She thinks this is her second home, She has been here so much this summer.
As we were chatting Gerry walked by with a cherry ice cream cone. And Maya went nuts, she loves cherry one cream! Tail wagging and lips being licked Gerry stopped and gave her a few nibbles.
please Gerry
Gerry I want more!
thanks Gerry
Ok that is enough socializing for tonight, they headed home I finished this posting.  Get back into my page turner e-book for a while. Only 8pm still too nice to head inside. Maybe another hour out here.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by, hope y'all had a wonderful day too.

Getting things done on an overcast cool day.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it

What a big change in the weather today. The weather Gods were right on, overcast, some drizzly rain and much cooler.  Instead of the 85F (29c) weather we have been having, it did not get above 65 F (18c). No problem we have been waiting for a day like this to do some other stuff. And we did get some nice cool weather things done.
After some computing , coffees and walkabouts I took  bunch of chicken bones from the freezer to make a nice broth for some chicken noodle soup. While they were simmering I whipped into Forest for a few needed food supplies, of course Suzie keeps and eye on the soup broth while I am gone.
Back home to finish this up and we enjoyed  a tasty lunch, nothing like homemade chicken noodle soup on a cool drizzly day.
perfect lunch for today
Right after lunch still yucky out so I got out a package of this muffin mix below, just cause I could. Perfect weather to fire up the oven for a while take the chill off.
this mix is quick and easy
pretty reasonable too
we got 6 Blueberry muffins  that are pretty tasty,
not bad for a buck
this is what the skies looked like all day here
so no sitting outside, plus it was pretty windy
After the muffins done I found it perfect weather to clean the windows in the car, then I set to detail the whole interior. Hey it's been a few years and was looking pretty tired especially after I vacuumed it all yesterday. This took a couple of leisurely hours but now our 13 year old car looks pretty pristine inside right now.
Suzie had gone to Gerry and Melinda's for some computer help and was not home by 3 pm when I was done hmmm.. Oh yeah she had sent me a text 'Happy Hour" over there! would help if I turned my phone on right!
So I wandered over there and Suzie was in her glory, Tucker on her lap a cold brew in one hand and I gave her another. Just look at the smile on her face!
Also there was Walt (our Flooring Guy), His wife Barb and Gerry. Too miserable to be outside so this worked well for us in their Florida room.
we having a fun time here
Then Maya hopped on Walt's lap,
I thought this picture was priceless what a sweetie she is
Soon time to head home for supper.  Tonight we gonna check out these Cornish Pasties we bought yesterday at the Gandpa Jimmy's Scottish Bakery in Grand Bend. Reheat them in the oven about 15 minutes. (we wanted the heat inside or would have done on our Weber ) These were very tasty, think maybe a bit of gravy they would be even better, maybe not as healthy but what the heck, they are good.
Cornish Pastie and our salad
sure did the trick tonight
this was taken last night, much warmer when Tucker stopped by.
Now it is 7 pm and the sun came out,, wow what a bonus! So lawn chair out computer and me. Gonna enjoy these sun rays and warmth while I can. Finish posting the blog and enjoy some reading in the fresh air while I can.
We do make the best of the weather when we can because that's what our lifestyle is all about, follow the sun.
Thanks again for stopping by and hope you had a bit better weather than we did today. But heck we still have much more summer left to enjoy.

Pinery Flea Market, Scottish Bakery, Grand Bend and a very nice summer day.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Here it is Sunday and a day of rest. but we don't need to rest , we want to do a few things today. Namely because the weather is amazing and why not?  The early walkabouts before people start to stir is wonderful. Up by the ponds, around the campground and just doing what I do, wander about. Get the fresh air, exercise and aways a few pics. Probably too many pictures, but I did delete quite a few.
nice view across the pond Gerry , Melinda and Tuckers place there
love the lily pads and reflection on the pond
Just before 9 am we ready to head on out to the Pinery Flea market in Grand Bend we do like to visit there when we are in the area , and want to get there early to beat the crowds. Always something new to see and do enjoy this market nestled in the forest.  Only Open on sundays from May until October. It is a very worthwhile visit if you are in the area.
they drive this old ruck out front every Sunday and have for very many years
Now to just wander about and take in all the stuff they have. Like I said always something new to see.
these old machines still working
clothes and stuff, pretty decent prices too
the kids love this
not too busy yet
Suzie checking out stuff, by she does not buy
fidgets are all the rage now
fresh baked goods
yard stuff
still not too many people yet
then I have to stop by for a package of the best
pepperettes around, extra hot f course.
this are nice but VERY expensive
want tools?
fresh corn from Leamington,
out first this year
old stuff?yup it is here too
remember these old lunch pails?
how about an ice chest, bar?
Electric bicycles and scooters
snacks, ice cream
food court not busy yet only 10:30 am
soon time for us to leave
getting busier no
this busker was pretty good
tin signs?
Ok we saw what we wanted and heading into Grand Bend want too check out Grandpa Jimmy's Scottish Bakery. Gotta check them out, looking for some cornish Pasties that they make right there. Will try them out a see how they are. We do love them.
picked up 2 pasties, a one pork pie , on the right.
the pork pie is tasty, but the pastry is though.?
It has been many years since I had a pork pie.
Now from here  whipped on down the main drag to the beach, not much parking there at 10:30 am looks like the beach is packed, it was a wonderful, sunny, hot summer Sunday so why not?
too early for the bar to open
they are really improving this very touristy area, looks nice

Bonnie Doon a land mark here at the beach
this fast food place has been here forever
From here back up the main drag across the river  and back towards the lake to check out all the boats in the channel, As usual pretty busy place.
found a spot to park by the marina for a few minutes
and check things out here
across the channel the Grand Bend Pier and lighthouse
this guy heading out to Lake Huron
some nice boats here too
Back home by 11:30 for a light lunch. And Suzie got a couple of doggie fixes, 1st one was Maya and she dragged Walt by, then shortly after Tucker managed to drag Melinda here.  Now she has doggie fixes and they have Suzie fixes.
Once lunch was done I set to work to switch our seat covers in the car from one side to the other, They are wearing as we slide into the car seat just on the outside edge,. so why not take the time and switch them? Get a bit more life out of them yet.
When I pulled these off some major dirt and dust underneath , so out comes the vacuum to get ride of this desert dirt. Reinstalled the seat covers on opposite sides and they look like new again!
they look much better now
Now with  the vacuum out may as well do the whole car, was looking pretty dirty, still desert dirt there from last winter plus our California dash cover was  pretty bad as well.
dash cover looks good again, plus all the dirt under it is now gone
After I got this all done Suzie decided that I need and ice cream cone? Just because, Really think she want an ice-cream. Ok why not? So down to the office and grabbed a couple of Praline Carmel ice creams in waffle cones, these sure did the trick, I had go along and pay because thats what I do, right?
oh these are excellent
Now for some nice relaxing time enjoying our e-readers in the shade on another perfect summer day, Only 89f (31C)  but the shade and light breeze made it perfect.
Couple of hours later I fired up our Weber Q to gill a couple cobs of corn that I had soaked for a while and a couple of MahiMahi Burgers for supper.
not long on the grill was perfect
fish Burgers, our first taste of fresh local corn,
sure hit the spot tonight
Now to enjoy sitting outside and a nice evening until 8:30 pm then all of a sudden the skies clouded over , winds pick up. and rain was just starting. We knew something was coming because the flies appeared and started biting, sure sign of rain. Hmm think a good time to roll up our awning and put our chairs away, inside we go. Thunderstorms on their way. No problem now we inside comfy cozy all secured and can enjoy the rain on our roof, even a bit of thunder and lightening. No complaints though we did have an amazing day and soon time to head inside anyway.
That was our almost lazy sunny summer Sunday winding it up with a thunderstorm right at the end of the weekend. A pretty perfect day in my books.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out our neck of the woods, hope you had a great day as well.
