Express Clydesdales in Yukon Oklahoma and Suzie got a major horsey fix!

Where are we today?
Another good night at the Flying J in Joplin Missouri. Up early a few walkabouts the parking lot and store in the dark. Just waiting for the sunrise and drizzle to let up a bit. But we were on the toad, by 8 am, kinda nice when we are all set to go just turn the key and we are on the road again.
the roads are pretty quiet today,
good travelling
Not a lot of traffic only light rain again for a couple hours and no wind, was a another good travel day..
We stopped at the Flying J in Oklahoma City to fuel our coach still only $1.86 a gallon, wow gotta love it! While here we made a quick lunch and headed down the road a few miles to Yukon to check out   Express Clydsdales Yukon Oklahoma  Now if you click on the link there you can read a ton of information about them. They travel all over north America to competitions, shows and parades. Calgary Stampede, Royal Winter fair in Toronto, London Ontario, even Milton Ontario. Indiana, Colorado , California, Utah,  Nebraska just to name a few.
wonderful barn and stables
This young lady is grooming this one it is amazing to see the size on these animals!
Their Hoofs are amazing too
Now Suzie got a doggie and a HUGE horsey fix today.
Upstairs a few trophys, some pictures and models on display.
They have a few trailers here on the property to transport these Clydesdales to various areas around north America.
An hour or so here then we headed down the road about 15 miles to park over night at the Walmart in El Reno Oklahoma. Got here early but wanted a change of scenery and pick up a few things at Walmart too.
pretty quiet here and lotsa room
Did a few minor repairs here, Re glued a window thermometer, checked tail lights on the car ( no luck with that issue). replaced a nose piece on Suzie glasses and lubed our roof antenna, think it is time for a new one!
Then time for supper, so why not a rotisserie chicken from Walmart?  And I can add to our salad and we good to go, we do love our chicken if you have not figured that out yet. Not bad here for $4.98 (not as good as the Weber Q) but we will get a few meals out of it.
Sure hit the spot again
This was a fun travel day at a nice pace, got to see the Clydesdales and enjoy some wonderful weather  too. Inside our coach this afternoon with the windows open 85 f, yep gotta love it!
Bonus here too We have free Hi speed wifi here as well.
245 miles today
Glad you stopped by and really hope you had a wonderful day as well.
oh by the way "HAPPY HALLOWEEN"
A don't forget to set you clock back an hour tonight, if that applies to your area.

Still heading west, check out Colaw RV parts again, but it was a cooler overcast drizzly day.

Where are we today ?
Had another great night and we were gonna leave early this morning but really in no hurry. Sun came  up but the fog rolled in. So we just waited for it to burn off. We were on the road at 8:40 this morning all is good.
222 Miles today
foggy this morning so we waited for a while
Then on the back road to I-44 about an hour of lovely country roads.
hilly winding back roads are wonderful
but challenging at times
Now on the interstate making good time.
not much traffic
nice rest area here
Only travelling down the road 222miles to check out Colaw Rv Parts for some used rv parts. Our coach is 16 years old and some parts are no longer available. We stopped by here a 2 years ago and was raining and muddy. They have some parts in the store but the rest you need to cruise the wrecking yard looking for the parts you want. Hmm...  today guess what raining, cold and muddy again when we got there. We checked out the huge parts inventory to no avail. They do have some amazing deals there though, nothing we needed right now. Looking for entry door hinges for our coach, very rare. But we did pick up 2 metal cabinet door struts for our inside cabinets, good deal too.
Shortly after 1 pm pulled  into Colaw rv parts. A huge wrecking yard and some good deals to be had if you have the time. They also sell a lot of new and used Rv's as well.
this place is huge !
We wandered about the store, lotsa new and used rv parts here, good prices too.
headlights, taillights?
furniture, new and used
appliances
doors, almost every thing but the one wanted
If it had not been so cold and rainy we would have taken the time to wander through the wrecking yard, I am sure we would have found what we wanted. It is amazing what we can find here. But we are not desperate yet. They do have some awesome deals here for sure. Like a good used engine (low Mileage) for our coach $2,500.00 dollars. and much more than that too.
After here we moved on down the road to the Flying J in Joplin Mo about 15 minutes. By the time we fuelled and parked it was after 3 pm. Thats it for our day, was productive and we put on a few miles too.
Not only that we found the cheapest fuel yet so far this year, look below; gotta love it !
Now settled in for the night, so nice that we can stay here in close quarters. Only here for the night anyway. Plus our coach is fully functional without opening our slide. Something we looked for years ago when we bought this coach
We discussed some possibilities for the next few days of travel, nothing carved in stone yet, but thats the way we like to travel. Will see what tomorrow brings.
Then I get to whip up supper. Tonight a chicken pot pie. Had some leftover cooked chicken in our freezer and thawed it out. So easy to do when on the road and so very tasty. The recipe is HERE or you can check out my recipe blog on the top right sidebar.
oh so tasty,
enough for 2 meals
added a small salad and sure hit the spot
That was another fun day heading west, getting things done and enjoying the days as we go.
Thanks for dropping by again and really hope you had a great day too!

Day trip to Hermann and Swiss Missouri with perfect weather, gotta love it !

Where are we today ?
Another great sleep last night and I thought I woke up at my usual time. My clock said 5:15 am perfect I thought. Got up, made coffee turned on my computer and the news from Ontario. Then about an hour later Suzie got up , Checked the time here in the Kitchen hmmm.. 5:15 am Guess I forgot to change my bedroom clock to the new time zone.  No problem we are morning people so got lotsa stuff done before the sun came up, just the way we like it.

About 7:30 I whipped to the Walmart in Owensville and picked up a few groceries. Back home before 9 am and Suzie had her shower and we can head on out.
Today we want to go check out Hermann Missouri. There is 7 winery's ,1 distillery and 1 Micro brewery, wow we could spent days here ! Thats not our plan just want to check out the town. And it is a small town population 2,700 , now thats our style, no big cities for us. But it is a very touristy town too, Lotsa restaurants and gift shops. A lot of nice old buildings and German heritage is very prominent.

The Tin Mill Brewery would have been nice to check out but not open yet. Maybe another time.
Lots of German style pubs and restaurents.
Lewis and Clark crossed the Missouri river here in 1806
Amtrak train passing through town
Missouri River
Now to check out the Stone Hill Winery free tours and we arrived just as one was starting. The very interesting caverns(or whatever) for making and aging their wines. A very informative and interesting tour one of the best we have ever done.Tastings were offered at $5.00 per person but we passed, not really expensive wine drinkers. At 35 % exchange that would be over $13.00 Canadian just to sample their wines, besides it was 10:30 am.
interesting wine travel mug
lots f interesting wines here, but too expensive for us
This is for the serious wine drinker,
Contessa you need one !
Heading back home we had to stop at Swiss Sausage and Meats. We have been here a few times in the past and love all their products. We sampled lots and and enjoyed the tastings here, free! We like free.
We did not leave empty handed as you can see below all chicken products except the Mini ham which is soo good, had it before.
stocking up again, but our freezer is only so big !
Now heading back to camp, love the road names here all alphabet letters, our road is ZZ. Takes us to Lost Valley Lake.
Back home for lunch and did a load of laundry. Only had one load but how can you resist for only .75 cents to wash and .75 cents to dry. We good to go for a while again.
With a beautiful sunny day and no wind we sat outside for a couple hours doing what we both enjoy, reading our e-readers, sure can't beat that, during our Happy hour.
Of course while doing this fired up our Weber Q 100, grill a couple chicken thighs. Sure smells nice reading outside grilling chicken. Yep we love chicken.
the afternoon sun is going away but supper is done
time to head inside
2 acorn squash 1/4s and 2 chicken thighs
add a  fresh salad and did the trick
That was our fun day relaxing and enjoy this wonderful weather and new places. Tomorrow back on the road heading west through Oklahoma and eventually southern Arizona at some point.
Thanks for the visit and if you can find us drop on by. We friendly just take us as we are.
