Generator starter issue is diagnosed thanks to Jim.

Where are we today ?
Just more fun in the sun. Early morning coffees, computing and walkabouts on another day with great weather. Temps in the low 80's (28c) and mostly sunshine.
down by the marsh at the south end
nice trails, back to camp
this bunny by the bush
Then into Buckhorn for a few items, especially the fresh picked Ontario strawberries so ripe and sweet.
Home for lunch and our friend Jim stopped over to check out our generator. He is a retired automotive electrician so after some checking he assessed that the starter on the generator is drawing too much current. After he figured out how to remove it found that it was seized.

this be our starter
Well he just happens know someone that rebuilds starters and is going there on Wednesday so he will have it checked out for us! Now how is that for a friendly rv'er?? Hopefully it will be repaired or replaced before this long weekend, we are leaving here next Tuesday, July 1st. Reports to follow up at a later date.
We did get to enjoy some reading in the shade for a while then about 4 pm wandered over to Jim and Sharon's for a nice "Happy (social) Hour", chat for a while and return home to whip up supper.
Tonight a tasty mixed salad, with some left over chicken, fresh steamed asparagus and a few rice crackers. Really did the trick for us.
so filling too
That was our day of fun in the sun, and did get some progress on our generator too.
Once again like to thank y'all for stopping in and hope your summer weather is as nice as ours,

  1. The one and only thing that was not quite right with the motor home that we used to own had to do with the generator. For some unknown reason, I could only start it at the generator. The start button on the dash didn't work, except to shut it off. Never did get that fixed.
Now, the starter? That's definitely something that needs to be sorted out.

  4. Your salad looks pretty close to the salad I had tonight. There were a few differences but we both had the blueberries and strawberries thrown in . Good thing you know the right people to help you with mechanical issues. We need to know someone like that.

  5. You're sure having some great days..........well, heck we all are so we've done something right! I'm on 2 weeks vacation, started Friday so I'm getting a taste of what retirement could be like. :) I have an unrelated question regarding your Weber Q so pls indulge me. I know you've done pork tenderloin directly on the grill. Could you send me some instructions please, you have my email address I believe. Thank you! And keep on enjoying the days! Hi Suzie!
