Local Cheese factory and Suzie's Dad back home!

Where are we today ?

Guess what we are having another wonderful summer like day! A bit more from yesterday first. On the way back from St. Jacobs Market we stopped by Mountain Oak Cheese factory about 6 kms up the road from Plattsville on a dairy farm, you can read all about them HERE if you care.  A couple from, Holland came here and are making amazing Gouda cheese varieties right here with milk their own dairy cows.
an amazing operation they have here too
excellent cheeses, each cheese block
weighs about 20 pounds,
Now Suzie's Dad got home from the hospital yesterday afternoon and he appears to be doing quite well. The plan for today was to go visit, help out a bit if we can and cook a couple chickens on our Weber Q was her Dad's request.
90 miutes later cooked to perfection
Suzie's mom baked a couple pies, apple/peach and a cherry pie. Mashed taters, carrots, and a salad to feed eight of us that could make it. There will have some leftovers for a day or two.
tasty pies
lotsa chicken
yummy
As we finished up,  Aunt Delores and Uncle Earlus dropped in for desert and a visit. Suzie and Roslynn cleaned up and more friends dropped by to visit too.
lotsa friends dropping by
Now we just headed back on home to visit with our guests Steve and Barb. We chatted more enjoyed the wonderful afternoon sunny and warm. Suzie got another doggie fix and all was awesome.
Buddy, Molly and Steve
We had a few snacks, John and Lea joined us for a bit and we sampled some very tasty curried chicken that Barb and Steve whipped up while we were gone!
Thats it for another fun day with awesome weather.
Ours was great day hope yours was too, Thanks for stopping on by.

  2. So happy to hear that Dad is home and doing better. That's always great news. Jim would love that cheese place - me? not so much. But I'd stop just for him. Your chickens looked so yummy. But I must say, those pies stole the show.

    1. I cook chickens frequently on our Weber, just love them done like that.
No cooking shows for me that would be too much like "WORK"!
Tens years in my own restaurant was enough for me.

That sure was a lot of cheese piled on those shelves. It must be a pretty good business.
