Rainy day and Tuna portions on the Weber Q.

Where are we today ?
Hmm, warm day but overcast and rain began before noon, just kinda carried on all day long, 7 pm and still raining. But we did have an afternoon of enjoying our books outside under our awning, pretty warm and the rain on our canopy we really enjoyed.
Mid afternoon Trish dropped by to chat for a while and we had a nice visit, just catching up with stuff.
rainy day again, but still nice
Now I can eventually start to prep supper. Tonight we gonna do some Tuna Steaks on the grill and I came up with the recipe below. Added a rice pilaf and corn on the cob done on our Weber Q 100.
This is recipe I found for grilling Tuna Steaks. All was good but they were dry, think a lot less time on the grill would be better. More like 1-2 minutes one side, turn over and 3 minutes on the other and would be awesome. Not matter all was very tasty.

Ingredients
 olive oil
Old Bay Seasoning

lime juice
lemon juice
tuna steak

Directions
  1. Combine Olive Oil, Old Bay, Lime and Lemon Juice.
  2. Mix Well.
  3. Pour over Tuna Steaks and marinade 20 minutes, turning occasionally.
  1. Make sure grill is hot – place steaks in hottest section and Sear steaks 1 to 2 minutes per side to seal in the juices.
  2. Finish cooking just slightly away from the hottest area – 8 to 10 minutes per inch of thickness. Maybe 3 minutes be better (next time).
this is what we grilled
looking good
very tasty thou
After supper enjoyed more rain and more reading and even had the sun shining on our site thru the rain drops.
Sure could worse, like colder, but still had a great relaxing day. hope you did too.
        Thanks for stopping by!

Warmed up again and enjoyed every minute of the day!

Where are we today ?
Wow what a wonderful day today! Started off sunny and warm and just got better as the day progressed. Morning walkabouts, coffee and computing then a quick trip to the store. Fill our R/O water jug and picked up a few needed supplies.
Then seeing as it was such a wonderful day, my back feels good and we have morning shade I set to work to wax the passenger side of our coach. I did the cleaning, compounding, and polishing the other day now just need to wax. This the easy part so by noon all the upper part was done.
nice and shiny
Grabbed a quick bite for lunch, then I proceeded to hand wash and wax the lower compartment doors.
Another walkabout, chat with a few new people arriving today then grabbed our books to enjoy more of this wonderful day.
nice sunny site and blue skies
Then eventually time to fire up our Weber Q for supper. Tonight corn on the cob (in foil after I soaked it in water for a while) potatoes slices coated with olive oil and a few no salt spices, couple pork chops (coated with olive oil and Mr's Dash spice), then grilled a couple peaches (lightly brushed with olive oil) for a few minutes.
quick and easy meal
less than 30 minutes we had very tasty supper,
The grilled peaches so sweet and tasty,
enhanced the flavour of the pork chops.
That was it for today, pretty productive, great weather and a tasty supper. A little walkabout then relax in the evening sun, enjoying more reading time.
Does it get much better? Think not, life is good!
Thank ya'al for stopping by for a peek, hope you had a good day too.

After a light lunch wandered over to visit our friend Trish and  chat for a while. Suzie got a doggie fix with a few neighbors dropping by with puppies!
But now looking for a quiet afternoon headed back on home to enjoy our books for a while. Love this lifestyle!
Now I had my chicken wing craving again so just thawed out a few wings, cut up a some taters for fries and some celery and carrot sticks just to make it kinda healthy.

Pinery Fleamarket and an awesome roast beef on our Weber Q

Where are we today ?
Sunday morning and all is great here in Arkona, but we are just having some real funky weather! Hot , cold, cloudy, sunny, rainy, more sunshine but we are enjoying whatever happens by being outside.
Up early as usual coffees, computing walkabouts and Suzie had her shower we are ready to head out by 8:30 this morning. Dropped by to say goodbye to Rob and Pat, they are packing up and heading out this morning. Then we are off to the Pinery Fleamarket in Grand bend, our favorite place to head on a Sunday morning when we are in the area. Lotsa vendors here this weekend before our Canadian long weekend. Not sure if we will be here for the long weekend we could be real busy then.
Just love wandering thru the trees in the shade for this fleamarket, a lot on these vendors have been here for years, but then again we get to know them too. Always new stuff to see.
this chip truck is always here
my half order of small fries perfect
Suzie heads over to John's Books, took in 15 paper backs and he lets her take 11 books away free! We like to deal with John.
Suzie at Johns' Books
Saw some cool signs and shirts here with neat sayings, so put a few together to show you below.
lots of good info here
We always enjoy the walkabout here, checking things out and people watching is cheap fun and kill a couple hours too, fresh air and a walkabout.
burgers and fries
ice cream and drinks
antique kiddie rides
fresh produce
and a few HOT RODS
Our Free books for today, good deal !
Now back in time for quick sandwich and fruit for lunch, read for a while with this funky, warm and cold weather. We enjoyed reading our books outside for most of the day, bundled up from the cool temps.
kinda cool, for a while about 4:30pm
Finally about 4:30 gonna fire up our Weber Q. Have a small (1-1/2 lb) top sirloin roast beef to cook. So a double layer of tin foil, small trivet and a after marinating in olive oil, vinegar, Montreal steak spice, pepper, sea salt and garlic for a few hours set on our preheated grill.
I tried something different tonight and put on some water soaked mesquite wood chips wrapped in foil. Now to keep the smoke in the grill I added some foil to the side vents on this Weber Q 100. And you know what?
After abut 70 minutes of grilling this roast and potatoes and not opening the lid hardly at all, we had a very nicely smoke flavoured meal!
beginning
low and slow worked awesome
added corn on the cob last 30 minutes
By 6 pm warmed up pretty nice
excellent BBQ'd roast beef
Now very happy with our mesquite smoked roast beef dinner, head outside to read for a while, then a short walkabout and had a visit for our friend Mike. Pretty soon getting dark and time to head back inside, almost 9 pm and getting cool again.
Thanks once again for your visit and hope you had an awesome day too!

Nice enjoyable, peaceful Saturday, perfect!

Where are we today ?
A bit warmer last night but still cool enough for sleeping with the windows open. Again not a lot on our agenda, just putter around . Pick up a few things at the local store. I thought about waxing our coach after compounding it yesterday, but decided to give my back a rest for a day or two.
Few walkabouts, read for a bit, chat with a few people and just generally enjoyed the day. Overcast with a few rain showers here and there and got immersed in some of our new books under the awning and listen to the light rain, really kinda nice. Peace and quiet with my honey!
they are building a new play room here for the kids
After an enjoyable social hour with our friends (they are leaving in the morning), headed back home to fire up our Weber Q. Bake a couple taters, (and a couple extra for another time). Grill two garlic farmer's sausage, and baked a half loaf of bread.

I made a small caesar salad and steamed bit of broccoli, put together a very tasty supper for tonight.

The afternoon rain did not stop the wagon ride tonight thou. Umbrellas and hats everyone really seemed to enjoy it again.
wagon ride is a go!
