Sat. June 18th A beautiful Hot Day, Fun!

Join us as we travel North America in our
Holiday Rambler Vacationer, since August 2006

Bright and sunny the day begins and stays that way all day! After morning coffees and walkabouts Mike and Jordan stopped by to see if I wanted to join them in a father daughter activity at the clubhouse. Mike was supposed to work and I was going to fill in for him in case he wasn't here.

Mike made his Father's Day craft and Jordan made one for me.

After this masterpiece the fathers made rice crispy baseballs for the kids to wrap with red licorice. But they had a problem with sticky hands, what a mess.
sticky stuff

The activity director melted the marshmallows but forgot to tell them to let is cool a bit. Well we worked thru the mess and got the balls made for the kids to decorate.

The decorating did not go as planned but a lot of fun and laughs was had by all.

After this we puttered around enjoying the sunny warm day, chatting with many people in the resort then we got to relax in the shade with our books and magazines for a while. Now this is summertime. Can you believe some people complaining its too hot? About 80f (25c) in the shade we found it just wonderful. I had just gotten and email from friends in Arizona yesterday and they have 109f (45c) now thats hot!

Eventually its time to fire up the barbie to make supper. Tonight a cornish hen, with potato salad, asparagus and garlic bread w/cheese, perfect meal for a hot summer day.
yummy

After supper we read for a while then joined Phil and Judy again about their campfire, to enjoy a wonderful evening relaxing and watching the flames flicker before calling it an earlier night. All this fresh air wears you out!

  1. Awe, mucho cute George! I'm sure all the kids had a great time. Still waiting for the heat here. I would say that we have had 5 days over 25C since we have been back. Cool enough for heat in the AM and sweaters when outside. Certainly not what Kelowna is suppose to be about. Next week looks promising.

  3. Glad you had a great time with the Father's Day crafts.

Nice to see people with their t-shirts on, we are still in early spring here. We have never had such a crappy spring before. We keep hoping it's around the corner. You can trust us, we will never complain that it's too hot!
