We had a good nights sleep at the casino and this morning as we are having coffee, computing, news on tv and the jockeys and trainers outside our house working with the horses, quite interesting. Even thou we were up early as usual we did not get on the road until after 9:00am. Oh by the way my feet are feeling better today from the fire ants, the burning and itching has stopped now, just lots of tiny white blisters.

We made our way onto I-10 and the traveling was good today a few traffic slowdowns here and there. Across the Atchafalaya swamp bridge 18 miles long.

Always an interesting drive, about the middle is an exit for a very nice rest area, where we stopped made lunch and enjoyed a free coffee. No roadside stops today, I don't want to see any more fire ants.

About 2:30pm we are off the interstate and heading thru the mysterious back roads to Abita Springs then to the resort.

We checked in and set up on a very nice site, personally selected by our friend Jon, the Leprechaun on the golf cart this St. Patrick's Day.

Once set up we went to Jon and Angelo's site to visit and enjoy a wonderful Happy hour. We have not seen them since the fall of 2009 for Thanksgiving and Ron and Mary from New york were with them as well whom we met and not seen since the spring of 2008 in Myrtle Beach. Its so nice to get together with old friends.

These guys knew we were arriving today, and extended their stay to meet up with us, so nice. Now being it is St. Patricks Day, Ron and Mary prepared a traditional Corned Beef and cabbage dinner enough for six and invited us to join them.

Now to accompany this meal Jon baked a traditional Irish Soda Bread with raisins and caraway seeds again very tasty.

Then the finishing touch was an extremely light and tasty Key Lime pie mad by Angelo, we were treated like Royalty, thanks so much guys! No wonder their bakery was so successful.
